Ann Marie reached out to me earlier this year about photographing her January wedding. Not only did her mom tag along to the consultation, but her fiancé, Austin, came too! It's nothing unusual to only deal with one of the spouses during the consultation and booking process, but having the opportunity to establish a connection with both is definitely a bonus- it makes our future interactions together go a little smoother right from the start since we've already been through the formalities.
When discussing locations for Austin + Ann Marie's engagement session, I suggested Spring Hill College, which is arguably one of the most popular spots in Mobile for portrait sessions, but I encouraged them to explore the property with me away from the Avenue of the Oaks. This session reminded me to look at things from a different perspective. Although I've shot at this location more times than I can count, this experience truly felt new to me as we came across so many photographic spots, I can remember repeatedly saying "Wait, stop! Just one more right here."
Ann Marie + Austin put up with my spontaneity and trusted me to capture the love they share, and I'm so thankful they did. Their love story will continue with a beautiful January wedding at the History Museum in Mobile. Congratulations Ann Marie + Austin!
